Kitchen Remodeling Ideas
With kitchen remodels, we can look at a large variety of cabinets that are available. These can range from budget minded kitchen updates to more custom remodels with a wide selection of woods, colors, door styles, and trim packages. Counter tops can vary anywhere from cost effective laminate tops which are available in a very large variety of colors and styles, to solid surface such as Corian, Silestone, Quartz, to natural Granite tops. We’ll take measurements to place in a computer program to layout your kitchen and you’ll be able to see your new kitchen before we even begin.
This is the perfect time to consider the useability of your current layout. Where the dishwasher is located in regards to the sink. Where your sink is located in regards to your food prep area. Maybe a slight change in layout will get you more counter top space where it will benefit you the most. Some prefer more cabinet space with addition of pantry cabinets while others prefer the additional counter top area placed over base cabinets.
We often work with Kraftmaid and American Woodmark cabinets with a large variety of wood species and finishes as well as door designs and trim options to suit any decor. They have some standard features like full extension self closing dove tail construction drawers, hidden hinges on soft closing doors, and plenty of options like roll out shelves, lazy susans, spice racks, glass door fronts, and more. This line of cabinetry is quite versatile to allow for anything from a simple lower cost kitchen renovation without sacrificing quality, to a more custom kitchen remodel with all the bells and whistles.
We’ll look at a variety of flooring options including sheet vinyl, tile, and wood. They each have their own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Presently you can get vinyl flooring that will resemble any “look” that you’re after while keeping it very easy to clean and maintain.
While planning your kitchen remodel it’s a great time to think about different lighting options also. Maybe it’s time to upgrade to recessed lighting for a modern clean look. Perhaps some task lighting at cooking prep areas and above the sink. Planning ahead for under cabinet lighting will insure a nice clean installation without having stray cords hanging down or across your cabinets, counter tops, and back splashes.
