Here are a few pictures of a Sterling Plumbing Vikrell tub shower replacement that was used on this bathroom renovation in Fairfield. These are very budget friendly remodel wall sets with bath tubs or shower pan bases for replacing most any existing tub/showers or shower stalls, and work quite well to replace the original one-piece fiberglass units. One piece fiberglass showers are installed before framing is completed around them. We cut them up to remove them but are unable to install new one piece units without tearing out and rebuilding a wall. These remodel units are designed to be installed without the need for tearing out any existing framing otherwise necessary for replacement of the original one piece units. They can easily be navigated around corners and through doorways. There is a variety of styles and sizes to choose from. This particular tub shower remodel included a new Delta anti scald valve and Holcam frameless rain glass enclosure.

Sterling is a subsidiary of Kohler, and the Vikrell material is quite sturdy and easy to clean. There is a fair number of choices in both style and sizing to accommodate many standard bathroom layouts. These styles include smooth wall for easier cleaning, tile wall to resemble the look of tile, and many include built in shelves, towel bars, and even seated showers. These are also available with “age in place” backers for ease of grab bar installation should that become necessary later on.
